ABOUT THESE VIDEOS

Popular television, art, artists, and music inspired this six volume video series. Growing up in the eighties, television was a gateway to the rest of the world in every facet of popular culture. Using editing/animation software and internet video as the medium, the series goes through many variations in pace, theme, visual culture, reference, artistic expression, visual trips, music genres etc. giving emphasis to underground culture, popular culture, and recent video art. 

Like the pace of the Seventies, the videos of Bruce Nauman, Andy Warhol, Matthew Barney, a Gus Van Sant movie, or lengthly multi series television drama, the enduring six plus hour video series mimics local "antenna programming", vintage children’s programming or early MTV drawn out or literally slowed down to reiterate the overall theme. This idea is conveyed through obvious or blatant references and artistic direction down to the slightest nuances throughout each video "trip".

By utilizing internet based video selections - popular viral content, music videos, commercials, etc. - creating miss-edits, integrating video/sound art, and adding television feedback for a retro video appeal, the viewer should instantly pick up on references to old Music Television, eighty’s and ninety’s culture, eighty's Horror, etc. The collection is a 6 DVD Volume pressed on DVD's containing over 6 hours of video. These were handed out each week at our summer concert series ROCK YARD. Below are excerpts from each volume.
